The world thirst after things

The world thirst after things, everyone has got to have more, it’s an obsession  in America I mean we just have to get that dream home if we don’t have that we just aren’t doing that well, right?

You go through 13 years of schooling and then onto college to get that perfect degree that will make all the difference in your life so you can land that perfect job to get that perfect paycheck and be financially secure so you can get that perfect dream home that is in just the right neighborhood with just the right neighbors who you hardly ever speak to while you drive past them in your beautiful brand new car that lets everyone know you are a success. Every day you leave that perfect spouse at home with your 2.5 children that go to that perfect private school so they can do better than you did and have all the things you lacked as a child but somewhere in your perfect world you feel like something is amiss, you really are not that happy so you think you need more stuff. You pile up the material possessions as fast as you can, maybe a boat or an RV will do the trick. How about a vacation home somewhere far away from it all where you can just get away from all the busyness of life, to recharge your batteries. No, that’s not working; all of this is not working at all! Well it must be me wife, or maybe it’s the kids or how about that job I just can’t stand working there anymore. STOP LOOKING TO THE WORLD FOR THE ANSWERS YOU SO DESPARTLY NEED!

John 4:10-14 (KJV) 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

We all need Jesus Christ so desperately but most of us are too proud to admit it.  How can a book written by some 40 different men in three different languages on three different continents over 2,000 years ago have any answer for this modern world? You won’t know until you pick it up and prayerfully read it seeking its truth with all your heart. There is no book in the world like it and there never will be, it’s the one and only book in the world that God wrote himself and the creator of everything in the entire universe has something to tell you in it. Stop looking for answers from this world you won’t find them, turn from your sins, repent and place your faith in Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJV) 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 3:16-17 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 10:9 (KJV) 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

I have been down the road you are on my friends and I thank God and his infinite mercy that he reached down from heaven and saved my soul from the depths of hell. I am a new person. God has changed me and restored me; he has given me life. For I was dead in my trespass and sin, once an enemy of almighty God but know a child of God and an heir to his kingdom. My life has purpose and meaning not just the same old grind but a new vision and eternal vision of a perfect kingdom serving a perfect God who so loved me that he gave up everything just to redeem my soul how can I not live for him?
