The world hungers for pleasure!

I once heard a man say to me that feeling good was good enough. This man was homeless standing in a drunk stupor, his face was dirty he was clothed in rags and his body stank from lack of hygiene. My heart broke for him, I wanted to help him with some food and I offered him something to eat.  All of a sudden he was filled with wrath he began to yell at me and demand money, I told him I wouldn’t give him any money and went on my way. I was in shock for a few minutes after meeting him my thoughts ran to and fro in my head; I fell to my knees and prayed for him and for guidance from God. Days went by ten it came to me , the world hungers after pleasure. Lots of people just want to feel good, some folks like to drink beer or wine others like whiskey or tequila if it’s not alcohol  maybe it weed or cocaine or some other kind of drug but the bottom line a lot of people just have to have that fix, it’s what drives there life. They have to make it to the weekend to party down with there so called friends, they can’t wait for those long weekends to just get away from it all and get numb. For some they can live like this for years and keep a job and live what they feel is a normal life. Others can never get enough of feeling good they need more and more soon they fall of the deep end. They spiral out of control with some that have no family around ending up on the street homeless and out of sorts but still seeking that pleasure. They are slaves to the lust of the flesh and serve an evil task master. Those of you that don’t end up on the street are still slaves to pleasure you have to have that drink or whatever gives you that buzz. It’s an endless cycle laid out by the devil to keep you in his chains forever and will drag you down to the pit where you will suffer in aguish for all eternity. You can feel them drag on you now, these chains that bind you. You hunger for something to fill that void in you but nothing of this world can. You were born with this void, this hunger and only one thing can fill it.

John 6:32-40 (KJV)
³² Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
³³ For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
³⁴ Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
³⁵ And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
³⁶ But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
³⁷ All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
³⁹ And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

You hunger for Jesus my friend, put down that bottle, that pipe, that straw or whatever it is you try to numb yourself with and come to Jesus, he alone can fill that void in you and satisfy the hunger you have.
